Every year, individual taxpayers must file their tax returns with the IRS by April 15th. But, this year, April 15th falls on a Saturday, and the following Monday, April 17th is the celebration of Emancipation Day. Thus, Tax Day is moved to April 18th this year, giving taxpayers 3 extra days to file their returns.

Roanoke is offering a “Tax Day Happy Hour” on April 18. From 4pm to 8pm, guests will be treated to food and drink specials in the $3 to $12 range.
