The Best Chicago Bars for St Patrick’s Day

One of the best parts of St. Patrick’s Day is the excuse to go out and celebrate. With that in mind, here are the best Chicago bars for St. Patrick’s Day.

Chief O’Neill’s Pub & Restaurant
3471 N Elston Ave Chicago, IL 60618

Two Irish-born musicians are the proprietors behind Chief O’Neill’s Pub & Restaurant. It’s about as authentic as they come, with live acts, amazing food, and cold brews.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant
100 W Grand Ave Chicago, IL 60610

Fado is a gem in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. Their happy hour is not to be missed, and many of the staff is actually from Ireland. Thanks to three floors of seating (and a bar), you should be able to pop in on St. Patrick’s Day and find a spot without an issue. But if you’re a fan of Irish anything – make sure to stop in throughout the year – they have so many fun events worth checking out.

Cork & Kerry
10614 S. Western Ave. (W. 107th St.) Chicago, IL 60643

Since the weather has been nice, it seems fair to assume Cork & Kerry’s outdoor beer garden will be open by St. Patrick’s Day. Besides traditional Irish pub trappings at the bar, you’ll also find live music and Irish pub fare.

Emmit’s Irish Pub
495 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL, 60654

Emmit’s Irish Pub is a place with a history, even though it’s not as old as some other pubs in the neighborhood. Emmit’s used to be a front for underground tunnels used by gangsters. Check it out and get into your own shenanigans on St. Patrick’s Day.

Duke of Perth
2913 N. Clark St. Chicago, IL 60657

Duke of Perth is actually a Scottish pub, but it’s about as authentic as they come. If you’re looking for a hearty meal on St. Patrick’s Day, here you’ll find delicious meat, potatoes and Scotch a-plenty.

Galway Arms
2442 N Clark St Chicago, IL 60614

Guinness beef stew, Celtic bread, or shepherd’s pie awaits you at Galway Arms. Come early for their lunch specials, or a little later to sample some Irish whiskey. They’ll have live traditional Irish music on St. Patrick’s Day!

The Gage
24 S. Michigan Ave. Chicago, IL 60603

The Gage’s owner, Billy Lawless, counts himself as a native of Galway, Ireland. You’ll notice the inspiration from his heritage present in many drinks and gourmet dining options.
